CONSUMER URGED TO BE VIGILANT AHEAD OF ABST REDUCTIONS

There is a caution to consumers ahead of the first of two ABST-reduction weekends.
Participating businesses across the country are preparing to reduce the Antigua Barbuda Sales Tax (ABST) on their products from 15 to 5 per cent beginning at midnight Friday.
However, Acting Director of the Prices and Consumer Affairs Division, Orrin Steele says this is also the period marked by an uptick in consumer complaints.
