COUNTRY RECORDS EIGHTH COVID- 19 Death

This was revealed in the latest Covid-19 Dashboard released by the Health Ministry Tuesday morning, with information as at Monday February 8.
The hospital says the latest fatality was a 65 year old man who died about 11 Monday night despite the medical team’s best effort to save him.
He had been admitted to the hospital on January 23 and placed on a ventilator on January 30 after his health continued to deteriorate.
The hospital says his illness was complicated by several comorbidities.
This brings deaths from non-imported infections to six while the other two deaths recorded so far have been from imported cases.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry says it received no new results from Mount St John’s Medical Centre or the Caribbean Public Health Agency as of yesterday.
It means the country’s case count remains at 316 with 119 active cases. The number of active cases has been adjusted for the latest death.
