COVAX RECEIVES BOOST IN VACCINE SUPPLIES

The World Health Organization’s COVAX Facility has received a donation of vaccines from Sweden.
Director General Doctor Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus says other countries should to the same.

Sweden’s donation is particularly timely as India, COVAX’s main AstraZeneca supplier, has been experiencing delays as COVID cases surge in the South Asian country.
Meanwhile, the WHO is seeking to add another vaccine brand to its arsenal.

Moderna is the fifth vaccine to receive WHO validation.
Antigua and Barbuda is still awaiting its second tranche of doses from the COVAX initiative which health authorities have advised should arrive this month.
