Dangling Debts

Even as regional heads of government continue to grapple with the day-to-day running of regional air carrier LIAT, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda the Hon Gaston Browne is considering ways of offsetting the airline’s enormous debt.

Speaking briefly on the issue was Chief of Staff within the Office of the Prime Minister, Lionel Max Hurst, who examines past debts acquired by the former administration.

Hurst says the ABLP-led government is currently working on ensuring that many of the debts inherited from the United Progressive Party government are paid off.

He also speaks to ongoing projects air marked at improving the infrastructural framework around the island.
