EARLY SUCCESS REPORTED IN PROJECT TO REVITALIZE ANTIGUA BLACK PINEAPPLE

Officials have reported a 95 per cent success rate in phase one of the Antigua Black Pineapple Revitalization Project.

The first phase has produced more than 10,000 plants and is expected to see 50,000 more over the next two years.

It constitutes a major advance on an initiative aimed at boosting food security, while restoring cultivation of an iconic fruit synonymous with the country’s brand.
