EDUCATION MINISTER RESPONDS TO CLAIMS OF EBOOKS WASTAGE
Education Minister Hon Daryll Matthew has responded to claims of the waste of resources with a social media video being circulated showing the dumping of thousands of e-books at the Cooks Landfill.
He says the text books were outdated and the e-books were only meant to last a period of 5 to 6 years.
The Minister also explains they were phased out to introduce more updated technologies in the schools.
Minister Matthew has also refuted allegations that the government has spent over 78 million dollars to attain the e-books, noting instead a total of $21,347,192.52 was spent to implement this technology in the schools.
