EDUCATION MINISTRY ENGAGES RESIDENTS ON PENDING SCHOOL MERGER
The Ministry of Education has provided details to parents and other stakeholders regarding the imminent merger of the Glanvilles and Pares Secondary Schools. Portfolio Minister, Hon. Daryll Matthew and two senior officials of the Ministry hosted a Town Hall meeting at the Glanvilles Secondary School on Monday.
The Ministry reiterated that the merger has been necessitated by declining student populations at both institutions – with 163 at Glanvilles and 178 at Pares.
Director of Education, Clare Browne outlined the history of the two institutions and the reasoning behind this process. Minister Matthew as well as President of the Antigua and Barbuda College of Advanced Studies, Dr Ezra Jonah Greene were also in attendance.
