EDUCATION MINISTRY RESPONDS ASSAULT INCIDENT AT SCHOOL

The Education Ministry has responded to an alleged incident at Golden Grove Primary in which a female student was physically assaulted by at least one boy while her classmates watched.
Another boy attempted to intervene to quell the incident.
A video of the alleged incident was circulated on social media yesterday, but it is not immediately clear when it occurred.
Education Minister Daryll Matthew tells ABS News he is disturbed by what he has seen.

Minister Matthew explains that a report has to be made before investigations take place.

He says the ministry has zero-tolerance approach toward any form of bullying in schools.

Meanwhile, Director of Education, Clare Browne, says he is expecting a report and upon receiving it, will determine the appropriate action.
