FATAL STABBING IN FRENCH POLICE STATION

French police are mourning the sudden horrific death of a colleague today. 

A 49 year old Police administrative officer was stabbed to death, on April 23rd. 

 She was attacked by a 36 year old Tunisian man, who has been living in France for several years. 

The man entered the police station in Rambouillet, just as the administrative officer was retruning from her break. He attacked her stabbing her in her neck, just before he was shot and killed by her colleague officers. 

The national anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office said it has taken over the case, opening an investigation into murder of a person of public authority in relation with a terrorist group. 

French prime minister Jean Castex, interior minister Gérald Darmanin and other top officials visited the scene of the attack to show their support for police. 

France has seen deadly attacks against police in the past, including some by Islamist extremists.
