Festivals Commission Turning Attention To 2014 National Independence
With the recent culmination of Carnival 2014, the National Festivals Commission is turning its attention to planning the 2014 National Independence Homecoming festivities.
Minister with responsibility for festivals and Culture, the Hon. Paul “Chet” Greene, says the full committee who will be responsible for preparing the 33rd Independence events will be announced by September 1.
He adds that there will be new innovations and some changes to the current program, since he believes that the celebrations should reflect both patriotism and culture, therefore bringing the community to life.
Antigua and Barbuda gained political Independence on November 1, 1981.
