FINANCE MINISTRY OFFICIALS RECOMMEND INCREASE IN ABST, ‘SIN TAXES’ TO BOOST REVENUES
The 2 percentage-point increase in the Antigua and Barbuda Sales Tax will be enough to fund the salary increase to public sector workers next year.
That’s the confirmation from Finance Ministry officials who recommended this increase as part of a raft of measures to improve the country’s revenues.
Financial Secretary Rasona Davis Crump told a special programme on ABS TV Monday evening the ABST increase is expected to yield at least 40 million dollars in additional revenues per annum.
