FORMER DNA STALWART SAYS TAX INCREASES WERE INESCAPABLE
Retired politician Anthony Stuart says taxation should not a partisan issue.
He was sharing his perspective as new revenue measures, including a 2-percentage point increase in the Antigua and Barbuda Sales Tax are set to take effect at the start of the New Year.
Stuart has called for key stakeholders to work together to create a national tax regime.
He says leading up to the January 18 general elections, he had indicated that there was a need for new taxes based on the country’s fiscal position.
He insists this was inescapable, irrespective of which party formed the Government.
