FREDERICK EARNS PAN AMERICAN SILVER MEDAL
For the second consecutive Pan American Games High Jumper Priscilla Frederick leapt to a silver medal.
This may her final Pan American Games, and she hopes to have inspired a new generation of Antiguan Athletes.
The American-based high jumper came into the event aiming for gold, even jumping a season’s best of 1.87m, but it wasn’t to be for the 30 year old.
Frederick was outdone by her nemesis, St. Lucia’s Levern Spencer who claimed gold. Jamaica’s Kimberly Williamson picked up bronze.
Frederick claimed the country’s third medal at the games and the 2nd in track and field. The National Olympic Association through the Chef de mission, Thomas Greenaway presented a financial gift to the athlete, which can be considered an early wedding present.
