FRESH EFFORT UNDERWAY TO CURB CONSUMPTION OF UNHEALTHY FOODS IN SCHOOLS

Steps are being taken to reduce the consumption of foods high in sugars, salt and fats by students in the nation’s schools.

Officials from the ministries of health and education have joined regional partners from the Caribbean Public Health Agency, CARPHA, to stage a three-day school nutrition standards workshop.

The aim is to address rising childhood obesity and strengthen the quality of meals served in learning institutions.
