Germany Has Announced Its Intentions To Help Antigua And Barbuda Particularly In The Area Of Renewable Energy

Germany has announced intentions to assist the twin island state in various areas of development.

German Ambassador to the Caribbean, Ambassador Lutz (Loot-zzz) Gorgens is currently on island holding talks with officials from the National Authorizing Office (NAO) and other key experts.

In speaking to ABS News, Ambassador Gorgens says there is potential to widen cooperation in the areas of climate change, renewable energy and the current water shortage. He gives further details on how he believes the country will benefit from renewable energy sources.

Head of the NAO and Ambassador to Caricom, Dr. Clarence Henry, states that he is very happy with the opportunities that have opened up for the country so far.

He also speaks of the possibility of German assistance, where the implementation of street lights across the country is concerned.
