GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES TRAVEL BAN AMIDST OMICRON THREAT

The government has taken a swift pre-emptive move to protect the country’s borders in light of the threat from the new Omicron variant of COVID-19.
Health Minister Hon. Sir Molwyn Joseph has announced an immediate travel ban on countries where the variant has been confirmed including South Africa, Botswana, Hong Kong and Belgium.
He made the disclosure during an interview on the ABS Evening News Friday.
Sir Molwyn has also revealed the government is mulling changes to protocols relating to the United Kingdom.
