GOVERNMENT INTENSIFIES FOCUS ON TRAINING TO DRIVE PUBLIC SECTOR PRODUCTIVITY
The Government is moving to ensure greater efficiency in the public service, with training and capacity-building as major components.
Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne says his administration will foot the bill for permanent secretaries and heads of department to attend the upcoming artificial intelligence conference at University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus.
They will also be required to participate in a public sector leadership training programme at the campus.
Cabinet revisited the issue during its meeting on Wednesday, with an insistence that promotions in the service must be based on performance, not simply years of service.
