GOVERNMENT MULLS A MONTH’S SALARY AS ADVANCE ON BACKPAY FOR PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS

Government is leaning toward paying public sector workers a month’s salary towards retroactive pay for increases between 2019 and 2020.
Prime minister and Finance Minister, the Hon. Gaston Browne says his administration is looking at a 4% increase over the 24 months, amounting to about 96% of a month’s salary.
The Prime Minister says the Government has been told it will take up to six weeks to calculate increases but efforts will be made to make the payments before year-end.
He provided the update during Saturday’s edition of the Browne and Browne show on Pointe FM.
