GOVERNMENT SAYS NCDs REMAIN AN URGENT CHALLENGE
Health Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph says the government spends tens of millions of dollars every year to help people with non-communicable diseases.
These are chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.
The Health Minister says responding to NCDs remains an urgent challenge even amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
He says the government spent approximately 30 million dollars on medication for these conditions in 2020 even as it contended with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Health Minister says people must exercise and eat more fruits and vegetables to reverse the incidence of non-communicable diseases.
