GOVERNMENT TO BEGIN CLEARING DERELICT PROPERTIES AS AMENITY ORDERS EXPIRE

Government will be moving to address the eyesore of abandoned properties as of next week.

Minister for Social and Urban Transformation, Hon. Rawdon Turner, says amenity orders issued to the owners of these properties have expired without responses from some owners, meaning the government will be acting to clear these properties.

This will mean demolishing derelict structures.

Minister turner explains plans are also in place to fence these derelict properties in the city, using students from various schools to help beautify these spaces with murals.
