GOVERNMENT TO CONSIDER PRICE CONTROLS FOR EGGS

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Hon. Gaston Browne says his administration will look into including eggs among price-controlled items.

He commented on the issue Tuesday, on the heels of an announcement of an increase in the wholesale price of eggs to $14.00 per dozen as of next Monday.

The Antigua and Barbuda Layer Farmers Association says its members can no longer absorb rising input costs.

Prime Minister Browne told fellow lawmakers in Parliament’s Lower House that the matter is to be discussed.
