Governor General Praises Local Doctors

His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams has paid tribute to doctors across Antigua & Barbuda and the diaspora to mark World Doctors’ Day.

The Governor General praised the dedication, compassion, and service of medical professionals, noting their vital role in caring for individuals and families at critical moments of life.  His Excellency stated, reaffirmed, “A healthy nation is a productive nation,” noting the importance of continued investment in healthcare, wellness, and prevention.  According to a Sunday press release, he also encouraged citizens to express gratitude to doctors and all who support the health sector, and commended the Antigua and Barbuda Medical Association for organising the commemorative activities.

During the Church Service at the Holy Family Cathedral, Sir Rodney offered prayers for continued strength and guidance for all who serve in the medical profession.

World Doctors Day is commemorated on March 30 each year.
