HEALTH MINISTER PROVIDES UPDATE ON COVID-19 TESTING
The Health Ministry has pushed back against suggestions in some quarters that not enough COVID-19 testing is being done.
It says about 2,000 PCR tests have been conducted so far for this month.
This is in addition to the 27 thousand PCR tests done from the start of the pandemic up to the end of June.
The Ministry says these numbers do not include rapid antigen tests carried out at private labs and other facilities.
The Ministry has also provided a breakdown on the number of imported and non-imported cases.
It says there have been 1,074 non-imported cases compared to 193 imported infections.
It says this has informed the way protocols have been crafted throughout the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph says discussions are being held about vaccinating individuals under the age of 18.
