HEALTH MINISTRY CLEARS THE AIR – NO CONFIRMED MONKEYPOX CASES IN ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA
The Health Ministry has made it clear there is no confirmed case of monkeypox in Antigua and Barbuda.
It has rubbished a social media post which has led some people to believe the viral infection is present in the twin-island state.
The Ministry is seeking to make it clear all laboratory investigations for suspected monkeypox cases have been negative.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Rhonda Sealey Thomas explained six tests have so far been conducted on suspected cases in Antigua and Barbuda and all have returned negative.
She has urged members of the public to be responsible in their use of social media.
