Hezekiah Parker Jr. Sentenced to Prison for Firearm and Ammunition Offences

Hezekiah Parker Jr. of Cedar Valley Heights has been sentenced to prison, following his conviction for firearm and ammunition-related offences.

The defendant appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel at the St. John’s Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, where he entered pleas to multiple charges arising from his arrest.

Parker Jr. pleaded guilty to Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of Cannabis. He pleaded not guilty to Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply.
The pleas were accepted by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), and the charge of possession with intent to supply was subsequently withdrawn.

On the charge of Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm, involving one Smith & Wesson .380 pistol, Parker Jr. was sentenced to two (2) years and seven (7) months at His Majesty’s Prison.

For Possession of Ammunition, involving seven .380 rounds of ammunition, he was sentenced to six (6) months imprisonment. He was reprimanded and discharged on the charge of Possession of Cannabis, involving 100 grams of cannabis.

The court ordered that all sentences run concurrently.
