Highest National Award For Manning And Panday

CMC – Former prime minister Patrick Manning and Basdeo Panday are to receive Trinidad and Tobago’s highest national awards when the country celebrates its 52nd anniversary of political independence from Britain on August 31, Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar has announced.

“It is my honour to announce that I have recommended, to His Excellency the President, that for our national awards, this year, that both former Prime Ministers Mr Patrick Manning and Mr Basdeo Panday be awarded the nation’s highest honour, the Order of the Republic of TT,” Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar said at an Independence reception at her official residence on Thursday night.
