HOMESCHOOLING IN ANTIGUA UPDATE
There have so far been fifteen applications to the Ministry of Education by parents who want to home-school their children.
Assistant Director of Education for Curriculum Beverly Allen is breaking down the numbers.
She says to date the Ministry has NOT had to deny any applicants.
Rather, advice is given on how to improve applications. She says a major hindrance for some applicants is the need to prepare and submit an education plan of how the curriculum will be administered.
She says the application forms may be downloaded from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology’s website and applications are still being accepted.
Many parents had initially expressed interest in home-schooling their children instead of sending them back to the physical school plants.
