Humane Society To Host Mega Spay/Neuter Clinic
Four veterinarians and three veterinary technicians from the United States and one veterinary technician from the United Kingdom will be making a valuable contribution to assist with the overwhelming increase in the dog population in Antigua and Barbuda.
This comes through the Humane Society’s Mega spay neuter clinic slated for May 1 to 4.
President and Executive Director Humane Society Karen Corbin speaks of how this came about.
Corbin says in increase in the dog population is bad for the dogs and the community and explains why the problem is being addressed by sterilizing as many dogs as possible so that they cannot reproduce.
Corbin dispels the myth that animals should be allowed to have at least one litter, noting that they ought to be spayed or neutered as early as four months for the females and when the testicles are visible for the males.
