INCREASED RAINFALL EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND FROM TROPICAL DISTURBANCE

Published

on

Forecasters expect an area of disturbed weather to produce increased rainfall over Antigua and Barbuda and the rest of the Leeward Islands this weekend. The tropical disturbance, AL90, is expected to pass north of Antigua and Barbuda. It is among multiple systems in the Atlantic being tracked by the National Hurricane Center.

AL90 has a 50% chance of development within the next 48 hours and a 70% chance over the next 7 days.

Another system, AL99, farther east near the Cabo Verde Islands, has a 40% chance of development but is expected to weaken as conditions become unfavourable.

Residents should monitor weather conditions closely this weekend as the nearby AL90 system could affect local weather patterns.

Stay tuned to ABS TV and Social Media platforms for continued updates on tropical developments.
