Independence Homecoming Festival Launched

The twin island nation on Thursday launched its 2013 Independence Homecoming Festival under the theme “Antigua and Barbuda One Family: Celebrating with Pride, Vision and Integrity”.

Hosted at the Dean William Lake Cultural Centre, the launch featured speeches by Prime Minister the Hon. Baldwin Spencer who declared the celebrations open, Minister of Culture the Hon. Eleston Adams and a number of cultural performances in dance and song.

The country’s 32nd Anniversary of Independence celebrations will feature the homecoming queen pageant, food fair, independence fete, the Golden Memories programme for the elderly, youth rally, and national dress day, among other activities.
