INDEPENDENCE PARADE AND FOOD FAIR TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 3 THIS YEAR

Cabinet has confirmed that the Independence Ceremonial Parade and Food Fair will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025. This date is to be celebrated as the public holiday, since November 1 this year falls on a Saturday.

This is consistent with the Public Holidays (Amendment) Act of 2019, which states, “When the first day of November falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday shall be a public holiday, and on that day shall be held all the official acts and activities in celebration of the anniversary of Independence.”

Some members of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church had been of the view that the activities had been scheduled for Saturday, November 1, which would have precluded their participation.
