JOHN JARVIS SWORN IN AS ABEC CHAIRMAN
John Jarvis has taken the oath of office as chairman of the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission, ABEC.
He received the instrument of appointment from Governor General Sir Rodney Williams during a ceremony at Government House on Wednesday, succeeding Nathaniel ‘Paddy’ James who retired this week at the age of 75.
The new ABEC chairman thanked his predecessor for the work which was done in advancing the Commission’s mandate during his tenure.
Jarvis’ priorities include conducting a successful general election constitutionally due no later than 2023, finding permanent homes for registration units and training and professional development for staff in the area of electoral management.
