JUVENILE OFFENDERS TO BE SEPARATED FROM ADULT INMATES

The Government is taking steps to separate juvenile offenders from the adult prison population, as required by law.

Retrofitting will soon begin on two units at the former Pan American base, which will serve as a temporary detention center for these minors.

The Government had previously announced that a permanent juvenile detention facility is to be built on the Crabbs Peninsula.
