LABOUR MINISTER CLEARS THE AIR ON CALLS FOR FOUR-DAY WORK WEEK
Attorney General and Minister for Labour Hon. Sir Steadroy Benjamin says the Government has not discussed any suggestion for a four-day work week. The issue has been broached by president of The People’s Union, Ralph Potter who says this would aid in greater work-life-balance. Labour Commissioner Eltonia Anthony Rojas had also given her personal view on the issue, indicating, “it could work.”
Sir Steadroy Benjamin says he has been bombarded with calls from employers and employees about this issue, but is making it clear this is not the Government’s policy.
