LANDMARK LEGISLATION PASSED TO MERGE OPERATIONS OF FOUR TERTIARY INSTUTIONS

There has been bi-partisan support in Parliament’s Lower House for legislation to merge four post-secondary educational institutions.

The Antigua and Barbuda College of Advanced Studies (ABCAS) Bill 2025 is being hailed as transformative for the education sector.

The legislation consolidates the operations of the Antigua State College, Antigua and Barbuda International Institute of Technology (ABIIT), Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI), and the Harrison Centre Antigua and Barbuda School of Continuing Education.

The aim is to improve efficiency and streamline efforts and to provide greater access to high-quality tertiary training in Antigua and Barbuda.
