LIAT2020 COMPLETES INAUGURAL PASSENGER FLIGHT TO MONTEGO BAY

LIAT 2020 has been welcomed with a water cannon salute as it landed at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica on Friday.

The carrier’s inaugural flight represents a major milestone for both LIAT 2020 and Jamaica’s second city, Montego Bay. For Liat, Sangster International represents its continued push for regional expansion. The airport, situated in Jamaica’s tourism capital, is the second of Jamaica’s three international airports LIAT 2020 currently flies to.

Montego Bay’s Mayor, Richard Vernon, says the carrier plugs a major gap in domestic travel, connecting Kingston and Montego Bay. It also connects Montego Bay to the wider Caribbean region.

Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Tourism, Sandra Joseph, welcomes the new connection. She explains Jamaica is Antigua and Barbuda’s second-largest regional market.
