Lionel Max Hurst Speaks on Fuel Prices
In the coming months, motorists could see a reduction in fuel and diesel prices, once international prices remain constant.
Chief of Staff, Lionel Max Hurst, during an interview Thursday on Good Morning Antigua and Barbuda, says this is a decision taken by the government.
Hurst says that the price of gas was reduced on February 1st by $1.49, and a further decrease could be in the pipeline once fuel prices on the international market continue to scale down.
He adds that it will also be based on the rate at which fuel is purchased by the West Indies Oil Company; that will also determine the reduction rate.
Currently, one barrel of fuel on the International Market stands at 50 US.
