MAJOR DRUG BUST AT AIRPORT

Drugs worth over 1.3 million dollars was seized at the VC Bird International Airport on Wednesday by police in conjunction with the Customs and Excise Division.

Law enforcers say during a routine inspection at LIAT Cargo at the Airport on Wednesday, ninety-one pounds of cannabis was discovered hidden in tins labeled ‘gourmet caramel corn.’

Police say the substance has a street value of one million three hundred and sixty-five thousand EC dollars.

The substance has since been transferred to Police Headquarters as investigations continue.

Police say similar busts have recently been made at both of the nation’s main ports of entry.
