MAJOR STREETLIGHTING PROJECT BEGINS ON SIR GEORGE WALTER HIGHWAY
The Sir George Walter Highway is the first thoroughfare being given attention as part of Government’s street-lighting project.
Motorists traveling on that highway will notice cones being placed to divert traffic on sections of the north-bound lane as the project commences.
The contractor for this project is Nurse Geoinformatics & Consulting and APUA’s Electricity Business Unit is providing technical support.
The Project Implementation Management Unit in the Works Ministry is providing oversight.
Works Minister Hon. Lennox Weston says this is one of the Government’s investments in a brighter Antigua and Barbuda.
He also says it is a critical initiative that will contribute significantly to the nation’s development at a time when Antigua and Barbuda continues to prioritize road safety.
