Man Faces Prison Time Over Rifle Police Say Could Shred Their Bulletproof Vests

Cassada Gardens resident Akini Walker has pleaded guilty to having a military-style FN rifle that prosecutors call “a battle rifle.”

Police say no vest in Antigua could stop it while his lawyer claims officers tortured Walker for his phone code, including waterboarding him.

Prosecutors say the arrest followed Walker’s failed attempt to jump through a window during a Sunday morning raid at his home.

Sentencing is set for next Wednesday.
