Minimum Wage to Rise to EC$13.00 Per Hour

Cabinet has accepted the recommendation to increase the national minimum wage from EC$9.00 per hour to EC $13.00 per hour.  The Cabinet of Ministers has also agreed that the adjustment should be implemented in phases over a three-year period, allowing businesses and employers adequate time to adjust while ensuring that workers benefit from a steady and meaningful improvement in wages.

Ministers say the move comes after careful consideration of the report and the consultations undertaken by the National Minimum Wage Advisory Committee.
