Minister Of Health Believes Nation In Good Standing To Combat Ebola Disease
Minister of Health, the Hon Molwyn Joseph, says he is content that the country is in a good position to launch an effective response, in the eventuality of an Ebola outbreak here.
The minister was speaking Thursday – ahead of reports that a doctor has tested positive for the disease in New York, one of several American states from which there are a number of direct flights to Antigua.
Local ministry officials have confirmed they will soon have close to a thousand personal protective outfits, once orders have arrived. In addition, training has already begun among the nation’s medical personnel.
Minister Joseph is also commending his team members who have been assisting with Ebola preparations.
Meantime the minister is defending government’s restrictions against travelers from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
