Stray dogs that have been rehabilitated here at Dog and Cats of Antigua are heading to new owners in Canada.

Another recent charter flight saw over 80 dogs being taken for a new lease on life in Canada.

Founder of Dogs and Cats of Antigua Joy Pharrel says it’s been an incredible journey for the dogs, some of which were taken off the streets around the country.

She extols the transformative nature of the programme through which the canines have found a home and owners through an adoption agency in Canada.

The next flight with more rehabilitated dogs searching for a new home will be in May this year.
