Antigua’s hospital now bears the name of National Hero and Former Prime Minister Sir Lester Bryant Bird…
It is now the Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John’s Medical Center.
The renaming ceremony happened a short while ago on the hospital’s compound.
The Hospital is the only tertiary level care facility in the country and the brainchild of the National Hero and Former Prime Minister Sir Lester Bird.
Governor General Sir Rodney Williams reminds that the coming of age of the hospital was told in Sir Lester’s autobiography, “The Comeback kid”, as it all started with a vision.
