NATION MOURNS PASSING OF EDUCATION DOYENNE MAISIE SOUTHWELL
Stalwart educator and founder of the ‘Infant Pedagogic Centre’, Maisie Southwell has died at the age of 90, plunging the fraternity into mourning.
Southwell passed away on the Monday, 5th September.
She was principal of many schools across Antigua before joining the Ministry of Education as education officer in charge of infant education.
She was also the recipient of a national award and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee award for her service to education in Antigua Barbuda.
Mrs Southwell is being remembered for her extraordinary career of over 60 years.
