New evidence bill using technology passed in the Upper House

Antigua and Barbuda has moved one step closer to enacting legislation that allows persons residing overseas to give evidence in court through the use of technology.

The Upper House of Parliament debated and passed the Evidence Special Provisions Amendment Bill 2016 today on Monday.

The act will also allow vulnerable witnesses to give evidence, while ensuring that they are adequately protected.
