NO CARNIVAL IF PANDEMIC DOES NOT END SOON

The longer the COVID-19 pandemic exists the less likely there will be Carnival celebrations this year.
That’s according to Festival Minister, the Hon. Darryl Matthew who says a final decision on Carnival 2020 will be announced by the end of this month.
Even if the virus dissipates before July, the usual start of the festival, there is still no guarantee that the country will be celebrating emancipation in the usual way.

The Minister says given the health and economic concerns caused by the pandemic, carnival is not a major priority at time.
