NODS ON FLOODING IN ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES
The recent flooding in St. Vincent and the Grenadines has worsened the situation in the volcano-ravaged country.
That’s according to National Office of Disaster Services Director Philmore Mullin who says it will require a massive clean-up effort.
The cleaning he says will be more difficult because once the material gets wet it solidifies and becomes more challenging.
He says it also presents a challenge for the people in cleaning their cisterns and spouting which will take some effort and could prove expensive.
The NODS Director says as the outpouring of support continues from the people of Antigua and Barbuda, a container will be sent on Monday.
Mullin says there’s an appeal to instead make cash donations to the accounts provided.
He says the request has come due to the number of containers and the limited manpower it will be a challenge to clear and un-stuff them.
