NSWMA CARRIES OUT PRE-DAWN CLEANING EXERCISE IN ST JOHN’S CITY

Dozens of employees of the National Solid Waste Management Authority fanned out across streets and alleys of St John’s in the early hours of Monday to carry out cleaning and beautification work.

The NSWMA team worked between 12 and 5am.

General Manager, Indira James Henry led from the front, as her employees trimmed and pruned branches, swept the streets and cleaned gutters.

The Solid Waste team were later joined by employees from the Central Board of Health at approximately 4am, as they sprayed the gutters, applied white lime and lay bait to eradicate rodents.

A similar exercise will be carried out Tuesday morning to continue the effort to improve the aesthetics of the capital.
