OLD AIRPORT TERMINAL BEING RENOVATED FOR USE IN HOME-PORTING EXPANSION
Progress is being made on renovating the old terminal at the V.C. Bird International Airport, as part of the effort to turbo-charge the cruise tourism industry.
Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister, Hon. Charles Fernandez says the facility is set to play a major role in home-porting this coming cruise season.
The tourism minister confirms most of the work should be completed on the terminal’s roof later this week.
Antigua and Barbuda reaps even more economic benefits from home-porting, as cruise passengers arrive by air and are transported to the St John’s Harbour for the start of their cruise.
They then end their excursion in Antigua and are transported to the Airport for departure from the country.
